Quite a nice strainer is an old pair of panty hose. (preferably without huge holes!) put one leg inside the other, and hopefully the holes in one are covered by the other. Big holes can just be tied with string. Tie the open end over the spout of the pouring vessel. I use a five gallon "cube" and find strong string hold over the thread well. Let all the panty hose go in the receiving vessel and pour. As one part blocks another will filter etc. When finished discard in compost heap as they seem to break down OK.
