Just as an anecdote on preps and skin. About 8 years back, I had a cat with a big abcess that had to be cut out. The day after she came back from the vet (with a big hole on her hip) I was spraying 501 on some tomatoes. When she walked by, I noticed her and thought to spray some 501 on the hole. She disappeared that night and the next day showed back up with fresh skin over the hole. It was pretty damn impressive.
