DISEASE FACTORS IN THE ETHERIC BODY


Rudolf Steiner points out that in terms of Spiritual Science
the relationship between the etheric and astral bodies is bound
up in the iron-content of the blood, and that regulation of iron
intake affect blood circulation and kidney activity. Cramp-like
phenomena are also associated with certain forces in the astral
body not functioning properly, so we see that it is possible to
begin to understand these subtle aspects of man by observing
various objective factors. The writings of Steiner are an invaluable
guide which will help any practitioner to bridge the illusory gap
between the objective and subjective worlds.

The etheric body is known by a number of names, some refer
to it as the vital body or the etheric double, and more recently
the term electro-dynamic body has been used, and Russian
scientists have called it the bio-plasmic body. Basically it is that
body which serves to link the physical organism with the subtler
astral and mental forms. It is an absorber of solar energies which
it transforms and transmits to all parts of the dense physical by
way of its fine energy threads known as the nadis, in modern
terminology I suppose one might call it a transducer, for its role
is one that is essentially passive, it does not originate action,
but simply passes on the impulses from the higher levels to the
physical form. Thus it reflects any disease pattern that is to
be found in the astral and mental bodies.
To clairvoyant sight it appears as a body of sparkling streams of energy which tend to flow out at right angles to the central nervous system. In sickness this body does not so readily absorb pranic fluids from the sun and as a result the vitality level falls off, and the nadis or energy threads become more attenuated. If this state of affairs is allowed to go on for any length of time the etheric matrix becomes so rarefied that it can no longer support the physical cells and definite organic pathology an disintegration comes about.

In his book The Vital Body Rosicrucian Max Heindel writes:
During health the vital body specializes a superabundance of vital force, which after passing through the dense body, radiates in straight lines in every direction from the periphery thereof, as the radii of a circle do from the centre; but during ill health, when the vital body becomes attenuated, it is not able to draw to itself the same amount of force and in addition the dense physical body is feeding upon it. Then the lines of the vital fluid which pass out from the body are crumpled and bent, showing the lack of force behind them. In health the great force of these radiations carries with it germs and microbes which are inimical to the health of the dense body; but in sickness, when the vital force is weak, these emanations do not so readily eliminate disease germs. Therefore the danger of contracting disease is much greater when the vital forces are low than when one is in robust health.

I have dealt with the dynamics of pranic reception and distribution in Radionics and the Subtle Anatomy of Man so there is n' need for me to go into any more details here. The question arises at this point is, if the etheric body is a reflector of states

imbalance in other bodies, does disease itself originate in the etheric body independently? The answer to this is quite simply yes! There are a number of reasons why, and it is important any practitioner to understand them, for they are factors that will be present in most cases that are radionically analysed.

The first thing to realise is that our etheric and dense phyical bodies are drawn from the etheric and physical substance of planet. This material, according to esoteric tradition, is veried, in origin and because of this it is contaminated to a very degree. For countless aeons the diseased bodies of men and animals have been placed under the soil, and this has brought
about a very profound yet subtle pollution of the matter which
we attract to build our vehicles of manifestation. Esoteric
tradition goes further and states that all disease can be placed
under three categories, those of syphilis, tuberculosis and cancer
and that these are all inherent in the etheric and physical substance of our planet. So potentially all are liable to pick up these predisposing patterns in their etheric and physical bodies, and the life-style will serve either to trigger them into activity
or allow them to remain dormant. Here alone is surely an
indcation of the value of pure living habits which will serve to
keep the etheric body in a radiant state
In her book Esoteric Healing Alice Bailey writes:
It should be borne in mind that the physical bodies in which
humanity now dwells are constructed of very ancient matter and
that the substance employed is tainted or conditioned by the history
of the past. To this concept must be added two others: First, that
incoming souls draw to themselves the type of material with which
they must construct their outer sheaths, and that this will be
responsive to some aspect of their subtler natures. . . Secondly
each physical body carries within itself the seeds of inevitable
retribution, if its functions are misused.
Samuel Hahnemann the founder of homoeopathy recognised
that man carries the seeds of disease within, and he called these
predisposing patterns, miasms. These are known as Psora, Pseudo-
Psora, Syphibs and Sycosis. Hahnemann called Psora "The
Mother of all diseases," without which no other disease can
manifest. Of it, he said: "Psora it is, that oldest, most universal
most pernicious and yet least known chronic miasmatic disease
which has been deforming and torturing the nations for thousands
of years." He was also very aware that these dyscrasias were
 not physical but subtle in origin and related to the vital force.
Of this he wrote:
When a person falls ill, it is only this spiritual, self-acting (automatic)
vital force, everywhere present in his organism, that is primarily
deranged by the dynamic influence upon it of a morbific agent
inimical to life; it is only the vital force, deranged to such an abnormal
state, that can furnish the organism with its disagreeable sensations
and incline it to the irregular processes which we call disease.
Radionic and radiesthetic techniques are ideally suited to trace the presence of any miasms or toxins in the system. Dr. George Laurence spent years perfecting Psionic Medicine*, through which he helped many people to recover their health. All cases analysed showed that miasmic or toxic patterns were present that disturbed the function of the etheric formative forces of the body and ultimately the protein of the cell. Laurence was able to determine not only the imbalances but also the homoeopathic remedies that would erradicate the miasms or bacterial and viral toxins. From personal experience I know how effective this form of treatment is, and that the same results can also be obtained by radionic means as well. It would be interesting to see just how much help could be given to children who show clear signs of brain damage due to vaccination. Asthma and eczema have been traced to vaccinations and cured by Psionic Medicine. The other important point too is that inherited disease patterns can be detected and eliminated in children so that they are not passed on to future generations.

The integrity of the etheric body is maintained and enhanced by a natural diet, organically grown wholefoods, fresh air, sunshine, honey as a sweetner, exercise, a relaxed attitude, the Judicious use of water both internally and externally and a regulated rhythm of breathing. Emotional and mental turmoil will debilitate the vital body, drugs give the nadis an appearance rather like the strings of a tennis racquet that are slack, and it should ever be kept in mind that the etheric body responds rapidly to thought. The yearly warnings by medical 'experts' through the media of television and radio, that polio or flu epidemics are on their way, is a sure fire method for setting up a suitable state of receptivity to these diseases in the populace. Spurred on by fear of the disease many get their flu shots and wind up with the infection anyhow; others report that they have never felt well since they had the injection, which is only natural when one considers that a poisonous substance has been introduced into the body.

The growing awareness of the public to the dangers inherent in the use of vaccines and to the side effects of prescribed drugs, is indicative of changes that are in the offing. The whole new awareness that people have with regards to vitamins, natural unprocessed foods and the practice of yoga is indicative of the approaching revelation of the etheric body. When this comes about, medicine itself will alter radically, becoming less physical in its approach to healing.
