Thanks for taking the time to write, Woody. I think the big issue here is that misinformation from 'the authorities' about the source of mad cow disease is interferring with our ability to do the work you described.
I spoke yesterday with a BD farmer who can no longer store his horns in a neighbors dairy barn (where they should be kept, per RS) because the neighbor is afraid of BSE. I've been approached by many people who want to make BD preps without using animal sheaths for similar reasons, a goal that I cannot really make any sense of. And now we hear that sheaths may actually become ILLEGAL in the near future (or already have in some countries). Organic amendment sellers have had their weak economies weakened even more by not being able to sell amendments that have be stalwarts of organic management for a century and guys like me who are often running behind the curve have lost some of the most reliable tools in their non-BD agro-toolbox. In addition, Marks work is an attempt to prove how destructive damage to the atmosphere and the food systems has become to all forms of life. The degeneration of elk herds in parts of North America is consistent with Mark's theories. How can we chose to ignore information like this? I also believe that the current invasions of the atmosphere, the aquaifer, the land, and the gene pool make it impossible for any of us to be Islands. In times like this, consciousness is a light that needs to used to ingnite more lights before all light is extinguished. Maybe I'm professing more faith in the system than I actually possess, but then again, maybe I'm talking about something above and beyond that. I do know one thing: only by working together do we have any hope of initiating a change.
