Thanks, Christy! This is exactly the sort of contact I'm looking for, 
unless he's a 'pro' of course.

Just to give folks some idea of what can be involved here: The first 
company I approached was the people who do www.brces.org, the webpage 
of the Blue Ridge Center. They told me they needed $100 setup fee and 
at least 3hours at $50 an hour. After that, they had a 'bit-rate,' 
which means I'd have to pay for each person who used the sound file!

Since I hope to put up a dozen or so sound files, it's hard to think 
that this would be the way to go.

I remain in good faith that there is either a pro bono host or that I 
will discover how to do this DIY.
