The Weed Committee approved a moratorium and our plan of action for Rapid Lightning with one exception. Randy, who grows Christmas trees with lots of herbicide and who is the Chair of this group, went to the trouble to call Boise to see if Pfeiffer Field Spray is registered with the state. It isn't, so he says I can't use it on the road, or even on my own private land, says Randy. I said, it just contains herbs and manure. He said, It's regulated because it's something you bought. Then he laughed his laugh and said, "It might have a bad nematode in it."
Isn't it bizarre? There are only two certified organic Biodynamic people in the state. Randy takes great joy in making life as difficult as possible for me on general principles. I have long since realized that I can't get my ego involved in this project and I have to do something that the Weed Committee can understand. The Public Works Supervisor just hung his head and the Weed Supervisor looked at me and shook his head. I wonder just how far Randy will go with this? Tootle-oo, Merla
