Dear Robert, You can do things either one way or another. But do them. If you want swings between nutritive growth and fruit, spray the 500 at planting and the 501 when it's time for blooming. If you want balance, spray the 500 and 501 back to back.
Horn clay. The missing BD remedy. Greg says he is going to sue me for using the term horn clay. It's his baby for which, in imitation of the USDA and Demeter he has trademarked and now "owns." Wierd. But horn clay helps join the 500 and 501 together into a really working ebb and flow of sap within the plant that takes the fruits of photosynthesis down to the roots to feed the soil food web and gets minerals and nitrogen back in complex forms. You need horn clay along with the 500 and 501 to get things really cooking so you get those two foot long cayenne peppers that are big as a baseball bat at the placenta end. Spray it following the sequence 500 evening, 501 morning, horn clay that afternoon. Good luck, Hugh >Greetings, all. > >I just finished reviewing the various instructions posted on the list >over the past year for spraying 500 and 501, preceded by a mix of >502-507. But I'm a bit confused - none of the instructions agree with >one another. > >For ex., one gent says to spray 500 before sowing - then to wait to >spray 501 until bloom. Another says to spray 500 one evening, follwed >by 501 the next morning. Which is correct??? > >Also - I have 502-507 in separate vials, for insertion into a compost >heap. And where does Horn Clay fit into >the mix - between the 500 and 501, or after the 501?
