Formic acid, present in the minicscule amounts eminating  from the bodies of 
the bees is highly stimullating to the flowers of plants, and therefore their 
reproductive capabilities and fruit production.  It is really an essential 
ingredient in Nature.  So, when it is lacking, as in the decline of the honey 
bees, Nature compensates by producing it in another way via the ants...SStorch
