Allan: I have used paint thinners to kill weeds successfully in the past, used to get the used thinners from where I worked, they were only too pleased to get rid of it. Paint it on and it burns the leaves very quickly, then evaporates, probably doesn't do the atmosphere any good but it works, particularly good on weeds growing in pathways and cracks. David C
