Gooday all from the land of OZ

There has been a lot of interest in this so here is my interpretation of some of it
This is taken from the SANET posting listed below
CAUTION - ANYBODY THAT IS GOING TO MESS WITH AN ALMOST PURE ACID BETTER KNOW WHAT THEY ARE FOOLING WITH AND HOW TO MIX IT PROPERLY -
I was attracted to these receipes because of the synergistic effect of combined citric and acetic acid - I have seen many drammatic synergistic effects with chemicals over the years - you definitely get more bang for the buck -

Burndown -vinegar (glacial acetic acid)     500ml
               - citric acid                             250ml
               - water                    750 ml to 1250ml

Selective Broadleaf activity double water to 2300ml

OR
10% wt acetic acid
  5% wt citric acid
85% wt water

There is a US patent no 5,888,938 on this (would you believe)
I found this a few days ago on the SANET-MG archive and then lost it!
SANET-MG @LISTS.SARE.ORG --search for vinegar and its item no 008807 May
2002

I would suggest you spend some time reading the original SANET posting
before going ahead - there was quite a bit of proper testing done to back up
the patent application

At first you would think this is just a case of burning the weeds off - its
a pretty strong brew - but the specially good result on Canada thistle -
which is a real mongrel weed - would seem to suggest something more.

Cheers all
