In reply to Allan E & black frost: I live in Orange NSW and have been involved in growing acres of garlic for a few years. Positioned 1000 metres above sea level on the side of Mt. Canobolas (extinct volcano) we witness wicked frosts anytime from June to early Dec., these are a constant throughout winter. The garlic has never shown any problems from frost or the snow falls which happen about 4 times a year, and tend to be heavy for this region due to elevation. L&L Liz
