Dear all,
I have asked James Stewart at Elib what the position is regarding copyright
- I think he usually deals with the Anthroposophical Press, so I've passed
on the email contact for Kolisko Archive Publications and relayed Roger's
contact with them. I've asked him to contact them himself direct.
Here's his email:
Hi Teresa,
My agreement with the current Anthro publishers is that I will not use any
of theie current offerings -- only those that are not currently being
marketed. Generally speaking, anything published prior to 1992 is OK. If the
book is newer than that, I will call them for approval. Obviously, if the
publisher is not currently in business, this cannot be done, and I will put
that document up.
If this publisher has renewed the copyright, and is in process of
reprinting, etc,. then I cannot put it on the web. What is the copyright
date? And who is the publisher? Did they say specifically say it is a
reprint, or is it a new edition? Have they renewed the copyright? Perhaps
they won't mind if it is on the web -- it would be a good advertizement for
their new edition. There are a lot of things that I don't know that
influence the decision of whether the book can be on the web.

Vince Heffernan sent me a very interesting possibility of using an Oce 3165
photocopier which can apparently produce a .pdf file of a hard-back book in
very short time and for "bugger all" cash. Oce confirm this and are getting
back to me with the nearest access point.
Or again, the digital camera option would be good - only I have bugger all
cash myself and would have to borrow a decent one. It would have to be 1200
pixels wide for a double page, 600 single.
So until I hear that it's definitely off because of copyright, I'll keep on
the trail. I think scanning is just a bit too much work if it can be
avoided. If it is all off then it'll have to be Plan B ... Australian
copyright law getaround!?
Warmest thanks for all your contributions. I really love this email list.
Haven't even used BD preps yet (I've only an allotment of about one-eighth
acre) but I'm about to send to Aberdeen for some.
Best wishes
Teresa Seed
