According to the info at Symantec if you have Windows ME or XP the system restore program will reinstall the virus unless you go through the routine outlined in their instructions on the website. I'm now quite sure I haven't got it but many of you may have, the damn thing is rampart. Thank you all for the advise, it is appreciated. This lot has cost me hours of sweat. It's much more pleasant in the paddock to where I am now heading. David C
