Dear Allan,

Another option might be to distribute video on CDROMs. You can get about 15 hours of medium quality video on one CDROM. You can also get 1 hour of high quality video on a CDROM. A very low quality video with adequate audio will use about 14 megs per hour of digital storage. This size of file would take several hours to download via a 56k modem and does not provide adequate detail for serious demonstrations.

This is pie-in-the-sky for now, so don't let it disuade any Aussies from attending Hugh's forthcoming lectures, but we should work to figure out how to put Hugh and other popular BD lecturers on Pay-for-View net broadcasts so that they can get the income and more people can get the teachings. Even better, if Hugh could hit his minimums from his home office, well, hell, he could probably spend more time farming and who to say we wouldn't all gain from that.

I'm talking serious here. The technology is avail. More than anything, we need point men like Hugh to be willing to spend the time thinking about how they could present their lecturers to an at-home audience. -Allan

Hats off and thanks to
Allan as this was catalysed in part by a posting on BDnow.
Cheers all

"What you think upon grows. Whatever you allow to occupy your mind you magnify in your life. Whether the subject of your thought be good or bad, the law works and the condition grows. Any subject that you keep out of your mind tends to diminish in your life, because what you do not use atrophies. The more you think of grievances, the more such trials you will continue to receive; the more you think of the good fortune you have had, the more good fortune will come to you."
