Botched up before it even got off the ground, or so I think now
anyhow. you be the judge.
There is an Oriental doctor locally who opened up a 'Wellness
Center' in College Station Texas. His actual herb business started
from a small storefront in Hearne (not too far from the B/CS area.)
I have an acquaintance who's husband has been written off by MD
Anderson Hospital as 'too far gone to help' cancer treatment. In
desperation he'd been buying teas and tinctures, whatever this Dr.
Tong would supply him. And some of the teas did actually seem to
be working, cancer (lung) was into remission for a little while
anyhow.

Not too long ago our local paper came out with an article about
organic producers in our area, citing Brazos Natural Foods and
Dr.Tong, interviewing these two, etc. Tong then stated he was
seriously looking at starting an Organic Co-Op for producers and
patrons in the Brazos Valley. (I got kinda excited and contacted
him via his website.) He'd already picked out the location (a
wonderful old Wolf Nursery building right next door to the one and
only shopping mall.)
We had a few snips of dialog and left it at 'when his staff gets time,
they'll be looking into it further.' Well and good.
BUT, when Marva (the cancer victim's wife) went to purchase some
tea, she was surprised to note Miracle Gro on the counter with the
herbs. Since I was in contact with the doctor, they asked me to
find out if he was aware (1) his employees were using it and/or (2)
it wasn't in an organic program. I composed an email and sent it to
my friends before sending it on to Dr. Tong, they thought it
sounded harmlessly bland, but suitable anyhow.

I've never met the man in person but he knew exactly who had
seen the Miracle Gro and threw a major fit!! He said he didn't need
any negative people around him and I was too sceptical for his
program. He also threatened Marva's husband, saying he couldn't
help him if he was going to be suspicious all the time.He said that
they use the Miracle Gro but should have put the box where
customers couldn't see it. He's not certified Organic, he can do
whatever he pleases as long as he doesn't label anything wrong,
but why would he come out with all this 'healthy, organic promo' if
he's not going to practice what he preaches?
???
I was tempted to go to the newspaper reporter and ask them to go
back and ask some more indepth questions about the 'organic
practices' this doctor plans to include.
Was this a guilty conscious talking? I think he's still in a position
to do good work as long as no one tries to 'reeducate him'. And I
know I can't darken his door or the good doctor will probably launch
himself at my throat!!
