we need your prayers tonight very badly

only one person has died but many are injured and nearly 100 houses have gone up in smoke. also a petrol station, fire station, school. Every suburb open to bushland from west canberra (Holt) to south canberra (tuggeranong) has been on alert since this morning. The suburb of Duffy is one of these and the worst hit up to now - 40 homes burned there this afternoon. It is 110 kms from south canberra to cooma but to reach there tonight, or return from there, is a 400 km journey via the south coast of NSW.
