Dear Patrick -
Would you announce to the students that with the cooperation of a few biodynamic growers in the area I am starting a study group on campus a week from this Tuesday on Rudolf Steiner's "Spiritual Foundations for the Renewal of Agriculture," commonly referred in biodynamic circles as 'the Course in Agriculture" ? This is a series of 8 lectures given in 1924 that forms the basis for biodynamic agriculture as we know it today.
Traditionally, these lectures are read as a group and questions that arise are answered by the group from their level of experience or insight. That is the format we will follow with this group. The recommended text is the Creeger/Gardener translation. For those who need books, JPI is the best source: http://www.jpibiodynamics.org/. (If there are volunteers to do the copying, I will make photocopies of the reading available to those who cannot afford or do not have a copy of the text. Serious students of biodynamics will want their own copy of this important work, though.)
Anyone interested in participating in this reading/discussion group should contact me, Allan Balliett at (304) 876-3382 or [EMAIL PROTECTED] for class location and other pertinent information. Space is limited and enrollment is on a first-come-first served basis. The reading group will be a mix of experienced biodynamic practitioners and those who are being exposed for the first time. First meeting is Tuesday, Feb 4 at 8PM in Snyder Hall. (Contact Allan Balliett for the room number.)
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at the above number/address. -Allan Balliett
