Dear ones at bdnow, This is not as much fun as that telephone game I played as a child. Please stop the Jane Sherry thread, it's getting really embarrassing.
I said I would lurk, not leave. I said I would stop posting things that weren't strictly bd related. Here's the deal: I will send very judiciously things that I deem worthy of your attention. Feel free to use the delete key when you don't like it or don't want to read it. I will use the .txt format so those of you with slow modems can download more quickly. If you have complaints about me personally, go scream it to the wind but not me. This has been a good demonstration of many of the failings of email communication. However, that said, there is too much of value in this community for me to dismiss it altogether, besides, it's a good exercise in emotion-management for me. I get an "F" for yesterday's lesson for freak out and fed up. I forgive you and myself, and even Will. By the way, Will, I am not questioning your intelligence when I send these posts, I am sending in info which is usually from alternative sources, as well as the NYT because I know that many on this list are farmers who are far out of the mainstream and cities, and do not get the NYT or have the luxury of going to their "club" to read other periodicals. The alternative news is really important to get a sense of what is going on in the world, which I do not think you can get from reading only mainstream media. (as Roger pointed out) Isn't life ironic? I read your infrequent posts, and think to myself, my what a thoughtful and intelligent man, aren't we lucky to have him on the list. You read my forwards and fume for whatever personal reasons. (Please, don't tell me about them). I apologize to the list for this mess and waste of bandwidth, can we please get on with the more important discussions, like what can we do about the abuse of our natural resources, what can we do about a government more intent on war than on sources of clean water, safe food, and renewable energy for all people of all colors, religions & races around the world? Thank you all for your thoughtful and (sometimes) kind responses, Jane Sherry Blessings!
