I agree completely! Whole food first. As an experiment I started using raw garlic as a preventative since someone posted a piece by Jim Duke here on BDNow during the anthrax scare in the fall of 2001.

Whenever I felt like I was coming down with a viral or bacterial illness going around in my area I have eaten a clove of raw garlic once or twice a day with meals. Within 4 to 6 hours I notice a distinct shift away from the approaching malady toward feeling healthier. This regimen has been 100% successful in keeping me healthy.
In the prior several years I had 3 or 4 bouts of bronchitis that required antibiotic drugs to overcome.


Whomever posted that Duke piece, THANK YOU! It was a godsend.
