----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Mahesh ChandraMouli Message 3 in Discussion Hi Ashok, The compiler was originally called "PreJIT", though now has been renamed NGen (for Native [code] GENeration). Prejit--> which will perform translation once for the entire Prejit--> application. With Default jitter, individual routines are jitted on demand, as required by execution and kept in their jitted form. But the sad part is whilst JIT compiling can perform well on some processors, there are concerns raised over processors such as the Itanium.
