Hi!!

Well Web.Config file is an xml file. Where as Global.asax is an ASP.NET Application
file.

The difference is that whenever we make any changes in Global.asax, we have to compile
the ASP.NET Application again to reflect the changes in the application but if we make
changes in Web.Config file, we dont have to compile the application. Rather we just
have to save the file and when the application checks the Web.Config file for
connection string at runtime, it gets the changed value.

Thats why we write the connection string in the Web.Config file.

Hope it helps J

Thanks and Regards,
