----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: KGK Message 3 in Discussion Hi Soni! When do you need more than one AppDomain? Well, how about a scenario where you are loading a third party assembly which your application might want to use, but you want to ensure that if the assembly crashes for some reason, your application shouldnt crash too! in such a case, a secondary AppDomain will be created to load the assembly. That said, a typical Win32 process can contain any number of AppDomains, each of which can contain any number of .NET threads. As of the current implementation of the CLR on Win32, each .NET thread has a one-to-one correspondence with an underlying Win32 thread in the same process at any given point of time. However, this doesnt mean that the same Win32 thread will always service the same .NET thread, since a different Win32 thread B can also service the .NET thread which was serviced previosuly by Win32 Thread A.
