----------------------------------------------------------- From: SriSamp Message 1 in Discussion Hi Group, One of the questions asked in the last UG meet (27th) was with respect to handling users not belonging to a domain for internet based applications. Various methods were discussed, including one on custom authentication. One of the replies that I had given to a member was to evaluate the usage of ADAM (Active Directory Application Mode). ADAM is an independent mode of Active Directory that provides dedicated directory services for applications. ADAM runs on Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition; Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition; or Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition for full operational functionality. Development for ADAM can occur on any of these Windows Server 2003 platforms. ADAM also runs on Microsoft Window XP Professional, with some functional limitations, for standalone development. Here is the link for more information about ADAM: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/netdir/adam/active_directory_application_mode.asp HTH, SriSamp ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/BDotNet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
