Hi!   This situation is ideally suited (no, not for abstract classes), but for using 
Interfaces!   Declare an interface like this:   Interface IDataAccess   Function Add() 
as Boolean Function Update() as Boolean   End Interface   Next, have a class that will 
be implement this interface:   Class CDataAccess Implements IDataAccess   Function 
Add() As Boolean ' do work here End Function    Function Update() As Boolean ' do work 
here End Function   End Class   That's the way to go, since you are looking for 
behaviourial change. Abstract classes can serve the purpose too, but ideally, 
Inerfaces are the way to go.   Gaurav
