----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Manoj Message 2 in Discussion Hi, You cannot have a config file for a DLL (class lib) as such. The class library would inherit settings from the application that loads it. So, if your DLL is used from an ASP.NET application, you can place settings in web.config. If it is used by an other application, place the settings in <<app>>.exe.config. If settings are placed in machine.config, they would be accessible globally, irrespective of the application that loads it (may not be very advisable though). You might also want to consider the new Configuration Management Block from MS, which might solve many of the problems. Here's the link http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/dnbda/html/cmab.asp?frame=true HTH, Manoj G ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/bdotnet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
