Hello Group! One of the development philosophies that the .NET framework lacks, as
of today, is
to do template based development, as is possible in C++. However, Microsoft Research
had been working on Gyro, a framework for Rotor 1.0, that adds support to Rotor
runtime, and the C# compiler, to do development using "Generics", the .NET name for
templates. In WinToolZone's latest publication, "Gyro: Working with Generics in
Rotor", I explain the need for generics, why System.Object isn't a good way to achieve
the same effect, and finally showing how a simple C# class can be written, taking
advantage of "Generics". You can read the article at:
http://www.wintoolzone.com/dotnetarticles.aspx Your comments are very welcome. Feel
free to email me @ [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cheers :)
Gaurav
