----------------------------------------------------------- From: ChiefCoder Message 2 in Discussion Hi Sujay use of sizeof operator in C/C++ :: It returns the memory size in bytes for a particular datatype. e.g. for int it will return 4(bytes) on modern compilers like VC++, Borland C++ etc. but on traditional compilers it will be 2 only. In any case it can't return the value of int variable. Secondly it doesn't apply to class reference objects. in C# :: This operator (sizeof) should only be used in an unsafe environment (you need to compile with /unsafe if you've written an unsafe method) and for reference objects, sizeof doesn't recognise the class object. However, sizeof(int) will return 4 bytes.
