Hi veeresh , See GAC is a machine wide cache for storing your shared assemblies ,
which should be strong name assemblies and can have co existing different versions ,
Ok once you have made your assembly as shared one and installed it in gac , then you
can delete the file in your bin directory or change its extension to .bak , but it
will still work because clr searches for a given assembly in GAC by default , For
your next query see each shared assembly is recognized on basis of following
parameters - StrongName , culture , identity and version so for next version once you
have made an assembly and created a strong name , assign it a different version in
assemblyinfo.cs file and install it using gacutil.exe or mscorcfg.msc ( mmc snap in )
i hope it is clear , if there's some other doubt then please get back to me ,
regards , Mrinal
