----------------------------------------------------------- From: Absent_Minded_Aquarian Message 7 in Discussion Hi! True, the proxies I referred to was TP (TransparentProxy) since that is what is handed to the Remoting client for a MarshalByRef object, although RealProxy does come into picture, though internally. Secondly, SoapSuds is best known, not to create a proxy, but for getting the metadata of a remote class, may that be a webservice, a remotable class, etc. Thirdly, the proxy that one talks about in context of WebServices, is not the TP (or similar) entity as in Remoting. Thats more like a pseudo class which delegates class to the WebService on the webserver. Unlike a remotable class that is MarshalByRef and has its proxy created which contains a reference to the server and object endpoint only with data being transferred without being serialized, a webservice proxy does require that everything that is passed to the websrevice is serailizable. So, a webservice proxy is a kind of intermediate between the MarshalByRef and MarshalByValue component entities.
