Hi DotGan,   It's a nice question. All of us use this quite often but have never 
thought much on this.    If you look at the DataReader class, you will find that the 
constructor for DataReader is private which will not allow you to instantiate the 
DataReader object directly by using the new keyword. However, when you call a public 
method ExecuteReader of DataReader, it internally calls the private constructor and 
the object is created. So, basically the execute reader instantiates the DataReader by 
calling new and then excutes the query passed to it. This is infact an example of 
singleton pattern.    This is just my thoughts on this and I welcome comments from
