Hi Vadi , You are right upto a large extent that native image generator loads the
binary form of code in native image cache , which is the part of GAC , a reserved area
in GAC , it is specific to a machine based on it's configuration , Now few things that
u need to consider that this process doesn't happen automatically like jit compilation
it has to be done manually using ngen.exe , this process is assumed to be faster as
there's no runtime compilation involved like JIT but it has few drawbacks also , It
doesn't gather as much information about machine configuration and it's enviroment for
optimization as JIT , so it offset the disadvantage if any of runtime compilation ,
which is debatable issue , go to these links for more information :
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cptools/html/cpgrfnativeimagegeneratorngenexe.asp
further knows about it is that before going in for JIT compilation it checks for
native image cache and in case it's empty then only it jit compiles so , in a sense it
overrides . i hope it's clear , get back to me in case of any other queries ,
Regards , Mrinal
