Hi! [STAThread] or [MTAThread] attributes primarily define the kind of COM apartment
the thread will reflect when its used with a COM Server. So, if the application thread
is marked as [STAThread] and it attempts to use a COM component thats uses
mult-threaded apartments, then proxies will come into play and marshalling will occur
when to/fro data exchange happens. However, this attribute doesnt affect pure .NET
based application. Try this line of code, when you have the attribute set, and unset:

Console.WriteLine("ThreadState: "+Thread.CurrentThread.ApartmentState.ToString());
This shall give the current state of the thread, and when you omit the attribute, the
thread (COM) apartment state is unknown/invalid and any attempt to invoke a COM Server
shall fault. Hence, the error you get.
