Hi
Manish,
Find answers below to each of
your questions.
(1) No. Digital Dashboards are
not part of Visual Studio, although there are designers that
help you develop web parts.
(2) I'm not sure if MS ships the
DDRK anymore. As far as I can remember, the only digital
dashboard software available is SharePoint from
Microsoft. The link that was originally there no longer
exists.
(3) A web part is nothing but a
pluggable component inside a dashboard. The pluggable component
is again a web page or a script file that can connect to any
data source and fetch data for display.
(4) If I remember correctly, the
SQL Server dashboard and Exchange dashboards are not supported
by Microsoft. In my experience, SQL Server has been faster and
more maintainable than Exchange.
The latest version of the
dashboard called SharePoint uses web-folders as
the storage mechanism (against a database) and provides more
capabilities than the earlier release of the Digital Dashboard.
You might want to see if your company actually mean
SharePoint.
