----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Neo Message 7 in Discussion Hi Senthil/Mahesh.. Thanks ....... I wanted to develop ...I am trying to put in brief abt system and my queries...hope this time I am putting in simple terms. I got a system where a user can generate a document (report), a web request is submitted and processed by the CentralEngine, which in turn places it in a RequestTable, which is monitored by the .Net application (DocGenrator). When the .Net application (DocGenrator) encounters a new row in the RequestTable, it begins the Server-side automation process, and combines information from the Central database with a pre-defined template to create a new document. If document creation is successful, the new document is saved into a folder on the web server by the .Net application (DocGenrator), and the RequestTable is updated. When the user refreshes the screen after a document is created, the CentralEngine displays the name of the new document on the screen, and the user is able to download the document and view it on their workstation. My queries are : 1) How can we monitor whether the .Net application (DocGenrator) is live or not. If crashes how can we restart the services remotely ( User is on web/intranet). 2) How can user be notified for # of documents generated on server-side (Including requests by others) 3) Where I should take care for possible bottle-necks for entire operation. Hope you guys understand abt above and will give me some good idea/clues....... Thanks in advance Cheers!!!!!!!
