for a very delayed reply. but maybe this could have helped:
devenv WebApplication1.csproj /build release
or
devenv WebApplication1.csproj /build
debug
from
the command line, in the folder where your project is. This could also have been
a sln file , in which case teh whole slution gets built. You dont need any other
tools and like you needed, the ide never gets loaded.
