Hi Sitaraman,   Thanks for reply.    Let me elaborate some more about the scenario. 
-What you have guessed, is all correct. I m compiling on the fly - The script which I 
m compiling, interacts with classes from National Instruments Measurement studio 
(inshort my script interactis with some specific kind of hardwares.) -When my script 
is in some specific stage, I cant not abort it abruptly as it can severely damage the 
hardware/instruments it is talking to, so in that case, it has to wait till it 
finishes that operation.   ----> Thread.Suspend/Abort will instanteneously stop/abort 
the thread which i dont want.   -> I m planning to use delegates...or some variables 
which can be set from outer class and checked within the script.   what do you
