i am having one more
interesting problem in using Charts in crystal report 9.0, the problem i am
explaning below.
In my
report i am having a line chart which is having dollar amount on the data
axis(y-Axis) and date on the group axis(X-Axis) , now my requirement is user can
choose an number to average the dollar amount over a period of ( 7 or 14 or 21
or 28) days , so when he choosen a number of days to average my reports group
axis will divide the entire date range on the group axis by the average no of
days choosen by user through the front end.
Below i am giving a sample
scenario to explain the requirement
say user chooses 7 as the
averaged over period, and the total date rage is choosen for the report is from
1/04/2003 to 30/4/2003
then reprot should diplay
on the group axis the below given lables:
07/04
14/04
21/04
28/04
but on the graph there will
be a point for each day averaged over the selected averaging period(i.e. 7
days)
means database table
contains something like
field1
calculated as per the formula
07/04
sum of dollar amount from 1/04 to 7/04 divided by
7
08/04 sum of dollar amount from
2/04 to 8/04 divided by 7
09/04 sum of dollar amount from
3/04 to 9/04 divided by 7
10/04 sum of dollar amount from
4/04 to 10/04 divided by 7
and so on.... till 30/04
which is sum of dollar amount from 24/04 to 30/04 divided by 7
say now user

set the group axis data label interval on runtime on design time i can set is
from the chart option and grid.. but that will be static i want it in a dynamic
fashion.
