----------------------------------------------------------- From: Mrinal Message 3 in Discussion Hi , See Web Service is a standard Architecture based on following Hierarchy : Xml -> SOAP -> WSDL -> UDDI Xml is meant for messaging being a standard , SOAP is a messaging protocol that works over HTTP - Transport Protocol So , Somethin' that is imporatnt is WSDL file which is nothing but a contract file , so what u need for any other web service is a standard wsdl file Like for a web service made in Java , u get the WSDL file and there's a tool a .net called as wsdl.exe , u can just provide that file as input and it will create a proxy file for u , which u can add into ur project and use it to call and communicate with a web service , Also if u have the disco file , which is a discovery file then u can directly Add Web Reference and it will create the proxy for u .
