We can divide web controls further into two more groups. Postback controls and non-postback controls. Textbox, Combobox , listbox are postback server controls where as label is a non postback control. the values entered in the text box control are not part of viewstate. i mean the value is not going as part of __viewstate control but it is going as part of forms collection. Asp.net page retrieves one by one in the forms collection and while rendering it assigns them to the corresponding control. In ASP we have to do this manually. Let me come to your question. The solution is you have to do the settings once again manually . My suggestion is write the settings code out of page.ispostback if condition Regards H.
