When you say you want to pass NULL to the SP, do you mean that the parameter will have 
the value NULL or it will not be passed?? If you are not passing the parameter, then 
you must default the parameter at the procedure like this:   CREATE PROCEDURE xxx (    
@Param1   INT, -- This will be mandatory    @Param2   VARCHAR(10) = NULL -- This is 
optional and will be NULL if not passed ) AS ...   You can now execute this procedure 
as follows: EXEC xxx @Param1=10, @Param2='Srinivas'
EXEC xxx @Param1=10
