Help on this...Please.
I have SQL server 2000 and Oracle 9i
I want to link my oracle database to my SQL 2000
This is what I did
exec sp_addlinkedserver @server='appdb',
@srvproduct = 'Oracle',
@provider = 'OraOLEDB.Oracle.1'
my database is - APPDB
username - junnm
password - jjlove
exec sp_addlinkedsrvlogin
@rmtsrvname = 'appdb',
@useself = 'false',
@locallogin = NULL,
@rmtuser = 'junnm',
@rmtpassword = 'jjlove'
but I received an error-
Error 7399 : OLE DB provider 'OraOLEDB.Oracle.1' reported an error.
I already tried this in my VB.NET oleconnection
OracleConn = "Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle.1;Password=jjlove;Persist Security
Info=True;User ID=junnm;Data Source=appdb;Extended Properties=''"
and it works smooth and fine.
HELP on this please.
