----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Pandurang_Nayak Message 4 in Discussion Hi Av, If you still haven't found a solution, here's mine: It is not possible to change the default Setup project template provided by Microsoft VS.NET to setup to some other folder and then create that as a web share. Hence, you will have to write a custom setup project. What you can do is, create a default setup project and then create a folder (all that using the setup wizard). Then add a custom form, with a textbox asking the user the name (s)he would like to give for the virtual directory. After getting the name, you can write a VB/C# project class with a method which will be called from your custom screen (this class has to inherit the IInstaller - i think, let me know if you don't find the interface - to get access to the custom screen). In the method you can create a virtual directory for that folder that you just created. To do this you could consider using the mkwebdir.vbs script available in your C:\Inetpub\AdminScripts (with default windows 2000/IIS installations). This is a good script that will take care of everything for you. Hope that helped! Do let me know if you face difficulties, I can make a sample project for you and send it. rgds Pandurang ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/bdotnet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
