No. 1: Install .NET Framework No. 2: Try to get your hands on an IDE like ASP.NET
WebMatrix (www.asp.net) No. 3: Start writing sample ASP.NET programs using the
Webmatrix documentation. That's how you can start on ASP.NET. Don't really worry
about the choice of language. The whole funda about .NET is that it is
language-independent. This means that if you are comfortable with VB.NET, go ahead and
develop in that. Once you are familiar with the syntax etc., it won't take you too
long to shift to C#. Knowledge of OOPS is not a mandate for learning C#. It is a
mandate for learning .NET itself!!! Even VB.NET is totally object-oriented. So it
really doesn't matter which language you are using. Necessary to learn XML - I don't
think anyone can formally take a "XML Crash Course". XML is just a way of representing
data. The XML manipulation classes in .NET gives you different ways of working with
XML data. That is all there is to learn about it. At least for now. Start working
with stuff and you will soon learn that XML is something you picked up without even
knowing it. Welcome to .NET! Have fun. rgds Pandurang
