But why dont you try using the Try Catch blocks for handling exceptions. In the catch block you can always check for the type of exception been thrown using the GetType() function on the exception class instance. This is quite powerful and easy to use compared to traditional style of error handling that was done in VB4-VB6. Please let me know in case you have any specific requirement. I will try to check if the same can be achieved using the try....catch blocks and will post you the code snippet.
