Hi ,   I achieved it using the following procedure. I put an checkbox within the item 
template and took a hidden boundcontrol of the row identifying  column ( userid or 
something). In the ItemCommand of the Datagrid control, I identified the command 
source of the button.  With in the command handler , I looped through the 
datagriditems of the checkbox.From that I could point out the identifying column of 
the checked rows.   I could send you the source code if you need it.May be there would 
be better ways than this :). Pls keep informed as how you solved it.    Thanks , Suman.
