There is no direct way to transpose a row to column. You need to do this explicitly 
the select statement that you write using sub-query or Case statements. Like:   Select 
a.empID, (Select b.Value from Skills b where a.empid = b.empID and SkillName = 'A'),  
(Select b.Value from Skills b where a.empid = b.empID and SkillName = 'B'), ... ... 
From Employee ...   Something on these lines ...   There are also some third party 
tools like RAC that allow you to perform such operations easily.   HTH, Vinod Kumar
