Hi, Try this... 1. Declare a global variable say string strOld; 2. In OnEdit()
method // add these lines before u BindGrid(); { DataGrid d=(DataGrid) source;
Label lb =(Label) d.Items[e.Item.ItemIndex].Cells[4].FindControl("lblCategory"); //
enter proper cell value of Category column of datagrid
strOld= lb.Text; DG1.EditItemIndex = e.Item.ItemIndex;
BindGrid(); } 3. onItem() method if (e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.EditItem)
{
ListBox ddl = (ListBox) e.Item.FindControl("Category");
ddl.SelectedIndex = ddl.Items.IndexOf(ddl.Items.FindByText(strOld)); } Reason:
ItemBound will be called after OnEdit method. so you can't access the ItemTemplate(in
which you have value of lblCategory) Hence get the value of lblCatgory before
changing to EditItemTemplate and stored in Global variable -Raja
