Hi Sateesh,   If I would be looking at the approach of your I would look at an 
enhanced format of your first option i.e., Opening and closing connection as and when 
required.  The enhancement would be the user should have a provision to open a 
transaction and then operate multiple queries under the same transaction and then 
close it.   That would be an ideal scenario when a sequence of operations need to be 
completed (you may term it a scenario when you would go in for COM - which is not 
always required).   If you could give the user the above mentioned option, your chance
