Hi Satheesh,

That is correct. The problem is we never got
a complete solution for the problem. The closest that I came to was
releaseObject method() but it never worked for me.

There is one more thing that can be done I
was told . I am still experimenting with it....

Start a new AppDomain
Create the excel Object in that

Process Excel file
Release Excel
Destroy AppDomain

I believe this should release the excel
instance. You can try it. We didn't go with the approach due to tranactional
difficulties which may arise because of appdomains.

Warm Regards,

Soumitra

Soumitra,
I have seen you posting
in quite a few sites in the above said topic.
Infact I am
having the same problem.Infact I have also explicitly used
Marshal release object method ..but still no success.
Any
                inputs..
Cheers
Satheesh
