string s = "some text";

foreach (char achar in s)
{
     // this line doesn't compile, says it is read-only
     achar = 'a';

     // the following works
     //  char anotherChar = achar;
     //   anotherChar = 'a';
}

Can someone explain this ?

char is a value type, so what we have in achar is a copied value, so when I assign
'a', I am not assigning to the string, so why doesnt' it allow ?

Regards,
Richard Hsu.
